TakeZeroHQ ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website located at takezerohq.com (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have.

By using TakeZeroHQ, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide voluntarily:

Email address — collected only if you choose to create a free account. Creating an account is optional; you can use the site and take practice exams without registering.
Password — stored in encrypted form by our authentication provider (Supabase). We never have access to your plaintext password.

Information collected automatically:

Exam activity — if you are signed in, we store your exam scores (exam name, domain, score, total questions, pass/fail, and timestamp) so you can track your progress over time. This data is linked to your account.
Usage data — we use Google Analytics 4 to collect anonymized information about how visitors use the Site, including pages visited, exams started, exams completed, and general location (country/region level). This data does not identify you personally.
Cookies and similar technologies — Google Analytics uses cookies to distinguish users and sessions. We do not use any additional tracking cookies beyond what Google Analytics sets.

2. How We Use Your Information

To allow you to create an account and log in securely
To save and display your exam scores and progress history
To understand how the Site is used so we can improve it
To measure which exams and features are most popular
To serve relevant advertisements through Google AdSense (see Section 4)

We do not use your information to make automated decisions about you, build profiles for sale, or contact you with unsolicited marketing.

3. Account Data

If you create an account, your email address and exam history are stored securely in our database, hosted by Supabase. Your data is protected by Row Level Security (RLS), meaning your scores and profile are only accessible to you when you are logged in — no other user can access your data.

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time by emailing us at the contact address listed at the bottom of this page. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

4. Advertising

TakeZeroHQ is a free site supported by advertising. We use Google AdSense to display ads. Google may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting google.com/settings/ads or by visiting aboutads.info.

We do not control the content of ads served by Google. Ads are not endorsements of any product or service by TakeZeroHQ.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the Site:

Supabase — database, authentication, and API hosting. Your account data and exam scores are stored on Supabase infrastructure. See Supabase Privacy Policy.
Google Analytics 4 — anonymized usage analytics. See Google Privacy Policy.
Google AdSense — advertising. See Google Privacy Policy.
Netlify — website hosting and content delivery. See Netlify Privacy Policy.

We do not sell your personal information to any third party.

6. Data Retention

If you create an account, your email and exam history are retained until you request deletion. If you have not logged in for 24 months, we may delete inactive accounts and associated data.

Anonymized analytics data collected by Google Analytics is retained per Google standard data retention settings (14 months by default).

7. Children's Privacy

TakeZeroHQ is intended for adults preparing for professional licensing exams. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your account and data
Opt out of personalized advertising (see Section 4)

9. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your data, including encrypted password storage, Row Level Security on our database, and HTTPS encryption on all traffic. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Site after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
